A Brother Beloved.  Dark broad-shouldered Gene was her responsibility since their mother past when she was only nine.  He had been away ‘behind the iron curtain’. It brought him back a changed man.  He is normal, said the doctors.  She knew better, and ‘utterly powerless to help him.’  She prayed urgently to God for him to restore the teasing lad who brought her torment and joy.  God put in motion an answer to her prayer which ‘failed to fit her preconceptions.’
