About The Book
When Arden Maynor was six years old, she was swept away in terrifying storm and went missing for days. Against all odds, she was found alive, clinging to a storm drain. A living miracle. Arden’s mother wrote a book, and fame followed. But so did fans, creeps and stalkers. It was all too much, and as soon as she was old enough, Arden changed her name and left Widow Hills behind.
Now, a young woman living hundreds of miles away, Arden is known as Olivia. With the twentieth anniversary of her rescue looming, media interest in the girl who survived is increasing. Where is she now? The stress brings back the night terrors of Olivia’s youth.
Often, she finds herself out of bed in the middle of the night, sometimes outside her home, even streets away. Then one evening she jolts awake in her yard, with the corpse of a man at her feet.
The girl from Widow Hills is about to become the centre of the story, once again.
If you are looking for a good book to read, this is your book, intriguing and well written, it will be impossible to put it down!
I’ve read a lot of books in which a kid is missing and the authors explains the story from the point of view of the parents, their suffering and pain during the unknown hours, but I think that this book takes a step further and bases the story on the child, the one who is missing and the trauma that will affect her life forever.
This is the story of Arden Maynor, she was sleepwalking and disappeared during a terrifying storm, the problem will start after returning home. How her mother benefits from the disappearing, the fans letters and how she never remembered what happened during those 3 days. Now, on her 20th anniversary receives a box with contents of her mother, that she passed away recently, and everything will start again in her mind. The nightmares, sleepwalking… Maybe it’s time to face these stolen hours and discover what really happened. Ready?
There are some authors that I don’t need to know the plot of their new book, I only want to start reading, because I need they will be an amazing trip. This is the case of Megan Miranda, her books are always intriguing and twisted, well written and addictive, so I will not lie when I’ll say that I said yes to this book without reading the plot and I loved every page of the story!
The Girl From Widow Hills is original and gripping story, you’ll feel touched by Arden’s story and angry with society. After reading these type of books I always wonder in what type of world we live, money and power, is it really what matters only?
